The Top Spring 2025 Fashion Trends + How to Wear Them

Nashville-based stylist and wardrobe consultant Carson Love is back with another fabulous round of tips to ensure your wardrobe reflects your personal style AND the current season.

Leaning into a new season often comes with a checklist of things to get done: preparing garden beds, de-winterizing patios, booking spring break, and … transitioning closets! If you need inspiration to shake off the winter blues and jump-start your spring, checking out the spring 2025 fashion trends can be a great place to start.
As a personal stylist, I don’t believe trends should be the foundation of your wardrobe or guide your shopping choices. However, they can connect us to our culture’s current timestamp and inspire ways to revive our wardrobes.

#1: Color Radar: Pistachio & Powdery Pink
Looking at trending colors is the easiest way to dip your toe into a fresh batch of trends. Color can be integrated into an outfit in endless ways — go for a pop of color with a simple silk scarf or clutch, or go all-in with a monochromatic set.
While pastels always reign king for spring, a couple of hues that overwhelmed the runways were light, soft pink (a refreshing shift from the Barbie pink that has ruled the last couple of years) and a delicious pale shade of pistachio green.

#2: Corporate-core or “Soft Power”
Fashion trends are often a ripple effect inspired by different cultural influences and events. In this way, trends can serve as a visual snapshot of a specific time in history, which is why they can be so interesting to watch — even if they’re not trends you’ll actively participate in.
This “soft power” trend (as many sources are coining it) is a prime example of watching the cultural pendulum swing. In the post-Covid era, we saw a huge influx of leisure-wear and work-from-home uniforms. Interestingly, we’re now experiencing a resurgence of corporate-inspired looks — but not in a traditional sense.
Tailored suiting is revamped with softer, more relaxed silhouettes. Soft lines and deconstructed suits were at the forefront of many spring runways.
If you’re intrigued by this trend but aren’t ready to invest in a new baggy blazer or wide-leg trousers, my tip is to take the essence of the trend and use pieces you already own! For example, you might pair a more casual graphic tee with your suit over a more traditional shell. Or tuck some of your soft knits and sweaters into high-waisted trousers.

#3: Fisherman Aesthetic
Time to dust off those Hunter boots and old boat shoes! This spring trend is a bit more conceptual, and for our coastal friends, it may feel more like a lifestyle than a fad. The “fisherman aesthetic” is this spring’s best catch (see what I did there?), combining utilitarian features with cozy, nautical layers.
Think Breton stripes, waxed jackets, fisherman’s beanies, boat shoes, sea-life motifs, and even netting!
What I love about conceptual trends like this is that you can usually have fun with pieces you already own. Layering cozy cable knit sweaters with nautical stripes and your favorite wellies touches on this trend, while still feeling classic. Although, I must admit, the sardine motifs on some of these accessories are reeling me in (pun totally intended)!

#4: Bag Charms
Welcome to 2025, where we now accessorize our accessories! Sometimes, fashion trends feel insightful and beaming with cultural relevance, and sometimes, they just feel downright playful.
Bag charms are bringing back memories for those of us who remember collecting key chains in middle school. While many of the bag charms currently swarming retailers are eye-catching animals or characters, there are also some delicate styles available, which I find more approachable.
Think about it like layering a stack of necklaces or bracelets — you can layer chains of different lengths together and mix in pops of color. I see this trend being a great gifting idea in 2025!

Disclaimer: Don’t feel like you have to partake in a trend that doesn’t resonate with you. If these spring 2025 fashion trends don’t call to you, don’t worry about it. Like a revolving door, a new batch of trends will be just around the corner, so I always encourage you to prioritize your personal style over seasonal trends.
But have fun with it!
