Cher and Boyfriend Alexander Edwards Go Glam for New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week became even more glam after Cher and Alexander “AE” Edwards attended Valentino Beauty’s star-studded bash at Studio 54.

In celebration of the brand’s new Born in Roma 2025 Rendez-Vous Ivory fragrance collection, the singer, 79, and her boyfriend — a 39-year-old music executive and model who Cher was first linked to in November 2022 — celebrated among the stars at Studio 54, which was reopened just for the Wednesday, Sept. 10 occasion.

The “Believe” singer stepped out in a cool black and white fur-style coat layered over an all-black outfit underneath. Her hair was styled in long, luscious waves. Edwards coordinated in a black suit accented with polka dot lapels and a tie.

Cher and Edwards were last seen attending the Feb. 14 SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, where the Grammy winner performed her hit song, “If I Could Turn Back Time.”

Their date night was filled with loved-up moments on the red carpet as they posed for cameras prior. She wore an elegant black gown and stole that made her surprising hair change from black to platinum blonde pop. Meanwhile, Edwards kept to traditional suiting.

Over the years, the pair have attended other high-profile events, including 2024’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, as well as Paris Fashion Week.

Cher and Edwards have a 40-year age gap between them, but online criticism of their relationship has not affected their romance. Shortly after the backlash hit, Cher quickly took to social media to defend her love life. In a string of posts shared to X (then Twitter), the superstar wrote that “Love doesn’t know math” when confirming her relationship status with Edwards.

She then spoke about it in December 2022 on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous,” and adding, “But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.”
