Designed by the then little-known Narciso Rodriguez the gown stood out for its simplicity. A far cry from the elaborate wedding dresses, with puff sleeves and frou-frou skirts that were typical of the era, Bessette-Kennedy’s silk bias-cut slip, marked a moment in minimalist fashion.
