5 Striking Beauty Trends From Paris Fashion Week SS25

The spring/summer 2025 shows in Paris were dominated by a plethora of noteworthy, viral moments—including Kylie Jenner’s Coperni debut – intermixed with an air of carefree creativity. As for the beauty of it all, Dries Van Noten presented us with colourful mascara, Balmain showcased the silkiest of blow dries, while Dior’s low-key ponytails offered effortless hair inspiration.

Electrifying eyes

Windows to the soul, at Ganni, Dries Van Noten and Loewe, accentuated eyes did all the talking. Alongside a dash of arctic blue or deep coral shadow just above the lash line, feathery falsies were applied to the outer corners of the eyes, creating a mystical effect at Ganni. The very next day, at Dries Van Noten, yellow and magenta mascara was brushed onto the lashes, creating a fiery effect. Loewe, under Pat McGrath’s direction, went all out with the sparkles, with models sporting large gold-glitter crescents above their eyes. Lashes were left bare and untouched, suggesting that we’re perhaps entering an era of choosing just one daring aspect of eye makeup to flaunt.

You heard it here first: breezy low ponies are the new messy bun. They’re better for your hairline and add a chic, effortless air to the overall look. At Dior, they were looped round a small bun secured in the middle, whereas at Stella McCartney, bouncy waves tumbled down the models’ backs.

Satin blow dries

Silky, straight blow dries were all the rage on the runways at Balmain and Courrèges. At Courrèges, models’ satin blow dries were accessorised with a long tassel earring that snaked out of the conch, circling around and over the back of the ear. The futuristic look was brought together with a dramatic band of black eyeliner on the base of the eyelid and natural wispy lashes.

The perfect way to elevate a look? Adding a metallic touch. While Valentino’s SS25 show caused quite a stir amongst the fashion crowd, Alessandro Michele’s daring beauty looks also did not disappoint. Septum and labret piercings decorated the models’ faces, complementing the subtle, glowy makeup. Rabanne, on the other hand, put a versatile spin on the traditional gold manicure, covering fingernails with metal cuffs. As for Miu Miu? A chic metallic lip liner courtesy of Pat McGrath commanded our attention, reminiscent of jewellery for the Cupid’s bow.

Trust Gabriela Hearst to highlight natural beauty in its purest form. Models with Afro-textured hair had gorgeously bouncy, combed out mini Afros, which looked effortless down the runway. Perfect inspiration for anyone hoping to hop on the natural hair train, a celebration of coils and curls is always a green tick in our books. Also spotted on the runways of Hermès, Sacai and Peter Do, it seems that the cropped version of our favourite Afro-textured hairstyle is here to stay.
