What’s new in Amsterdam about Modefabriek and a new men’s fashion event
Many novelties will happen in Amsterdam at the beginning of 2025. While Modefabrik will welcome Norther European fashion business insiders, a new event focused on men’s fashion will debut in the same days in Amsterdam.
The upcoming winter edition of Modefabriek, the Dutch fashion trade show taking place in Amsterdam on 26 & 27 January 2025, will be facing an overall redesign along with a change of location, moving to the new venue Expo Greater Amsterdam in Vijfhuizen.
“Since its foundation in 1996, Modefabriek has grown into an international standard, and like the entire industry, it has weathered the necessary storms and has always adapted to the new situation with conviction. Now we are at such a point again to redefine and shape Modefabriek, in line with the current needs of the sector,” explained Caroline Krouwels, co-founder and creative director, Modefabriek.

“After 21 years at RAI Amsterdam, that coat, however beautiful and familiar, was starting to wrinkle,” continued the manager explaining that the show’s concept had slowly but surely lost its vitality, while the sector has already faced hard time.
“We felt it, and so did our participants and visitors, of course. And so we started looking for another beautiful central location, where we could design that new, fresh, updated Modefabriek. This set everything into motion,” she continued.
The new location, the Expo Greater Amsterdam can offer the event a strong background and a more inspiring setting for its exhibitors and visitors as its whole architecture is very different, everything is glass, including the outer walls.
The new location is very open and light and can help earn a different look and feel. While moving to the new venue, the show’s redesign also reinvented its booths by hosting semi-closed stands, including a new modular system with much more variation possibilities.
“This new solution will be giving the expo an open, eclectic and dynamic department-store feel. Exhibitors can give their own swing to the set-up much more than before, while the new system still ensures uniformity,” added Krouwels.
In terms of show offer, the trade show will continue to host trend forums and talks while, in order to offer a more welcoming a friendly atmosphere, they created extra space for exclusive brands in The Fashion Gallery, which, with a large central bar, will be the stylish heart of the new Modefabriek, and continue to be the place where some of the finest boutique labels in North-West Europe will meet.
“This edition, we want to show more than ever that we are the place where the sector comes together,” said Krouwels.
“We have come up with something beautiful for that; long tables run like a red line through the floor plan. The tables symbolise meeting each other again, and coming together around all kinds of presentations and trends, skincare, bookstall or repair café. It should be a big buzzing party. This Modefabriek is all about Re-fresh & Re-connect,” she added.
